10 Anti-Aging Tips for Moms

Written by Ageless Moms on May 29th, 2009

Let’s face it, we’re not getting any younger. But we can do something so we can look younger and stays healthy at the same time.

1. Quit Smoking. Do your skin a favor and quit smoking now. It’s simple as that.

2. Protect your Skin from the sun. Have sunscreen always with you.

3. Eat an antioxidant rich diet. Eating fresh vegetables, fruit and whole grains is a maximum anti aging protection

4. Take a supplement for younger looking skin. Boost your antioxiant with a daily supplement.

5. Add green tea to your day. Recent research findings show that taking sufficient green tea during the day can protect you from all forms of cancer, build your resistance to heart disease and dementia and contribute to your body’s ability to burn fat.

We have a lot of that here, hehe…

6. Moisture and exfoliate. A great anti aging moisturizer, when applied properly, will provide continous hydration – essential for mature skin – and protection from further free radical damage.

7. Exercise more. An excellent anti aging tip.

8. Moderate your alcohol intake. Drink alcohol in moderation.
We love drinking red wine here.

9. Stress less. When you’re under stress your body releases stress hormones which – over a period of time – surpress the immune system and accelerate the aging process.

10. Drink more water. Without sufficient water your skin will dehydrate and essential anti aging nutrients cannot be delivered to your system.

Looking younger, feels great! ;)

How to Look Less Tired

Written by Ageless Moms on May 29th, 2009

There isn’t a Mom in the world who gets the kind of sleep she needs or deserves, but it doesn’t have to appear that way! Leave your house looking fresh-faced and full of beauty sleep every day with these simple tips.

1. As soon as you wake up, splash cold water on your face for several minutes.

2. Wrap an ice-filled sandwich bag with a cloth and place it on your eyes for about five minutes. Moisturize your face with an SPF-containing cream.

3. Drink a large glass of water with breakfast to stave off dehydration for the day.

4. Continue drinking water throughout the day to avoid retaining water which can cause a puffy, tired appearance. Drink about 64 ounces per day if possible.

5. Dot concealer under your eyes and tap into dark circles.

6. Sweep petroleum jelly across your brow bones directly underneath your eyebrows and across the top of your cheekbones. Exclude powder from your make-up routine which can accentuate creases and wrinkles.

7. Brush your hair and make sure your clothing is clean and pressed to give you a more polished look.

8. Avoid salty foods and caffeine, both of which can make you look bloated.

9. Put some pep in your step. If you’re healthy enough to exercise, fifteen to thirty minutes can energize you and get your blood flowing giving you a healthy glow.

10. Clean your face and moisturize before bed and sleep on a satin pillowcase. Avoid sleeping on your side or stomach, but rather try to rest on your back.

Even if you only practice a few of these tips, you should look brighter and refreshed!

Hello moms, how about “delaying” aging and looking as younger as possible?

12 Ways to Delay Aging

1. Wear sunscreen every day.
2. Apply sunscreen liberally.
3. Don’t forget your legs.
4. Don’t rely on SPF-enhanced makeup.

10. Use an anti-aging cream at night.
11. Try a weekly exfoliation treatment.
12. Remember the rest of your body.

Aging Backwards: Tips for Looking Young

Written by Ageless Moms on April 29th, 2009

One of the biggest challenges of dating is feeling confident and looking fabulous. To give us some help with that, Jackie Silver spills her best anti-aging beauty secrets. If Jackie looks familiar, you’ve probably seen her on TV as the nationally-syndicated DAYTIME show’s beauty expert or read her column in the Tampa Tribune.

What are the top three things women should do right now to start Aging Backwards

Jackie:
1) Get some rest! 7-8 hours of sleep is mandatory – our bodies “tune up” when we’re sleeping. Sleep is very important for balanced hormones. Women over 40, try melatonin to fall asleep and stay asleep (it’s also used for jet-lag.) You can find Melatonin at your local health food store.

2) Get up off the couch! Exercise is the Fountain of Youth. When people hear the words “anti-aging,” they tend to think of face creams or lasers or even plastic surgery, but there is a myriad of other aspects of “Aging Backwards” and exercise is one of the most important ones. Not only does working out benefit the heart and lungs, increase strength and muscle tone and keep the body lean, but it also helps to lower stress levels, improve sleep and mood, get rid of toxins and actually makes the skin look younger by increasing circulation and delivering nutrients to skin cells. Talk about multi-tasking…

3) You’re sweet enough – cut down on sugar! Experts believe that a lifetime of overeating sugar can cause wrinkles by damaging collagen. A high-sugar diet also affects the type of collagen you have — another factor in how resistant skin is to wrinkling. The most abundant collagen types in the skin are I, II and III, with type III being the most stable and long-lasting. Glycation, the process that occurs when you eat sugar, turns type III collagen into type I, which is more fragile, making the skin look and feel less supple. It also leaves you more vulnerable to sun damage. (more…)
